• Recently, TrafficWave, one of the autoresponder services I use, introduced a new feature: customizable thank you pages and subscription confirmation pages.  This is a very important feature that all online marketers should take advantage of.  This is the best way I know of to advertise on autopilot.  


• What is a thank you page?
  
  A thank you page is a page where people are redirected automatically after they enter their information using a lead-capture page.  The ability to customize this page is a very important feature of a good quality autoresponder service.  
  
  If you are not using this feature, you are losing money!
  
  A thank you page advertising is advertising on autopilot.  These pages work much better than exit ads, pop-up ads or many other types of ads for a number of reasons.  
  
  First, a thank you page is shown to a person who has already actively requested information from you by entering a name and e-mail address using your lead-capture page.  This person is in "the action mode."  He/she is more likely to pay attention to what you have to offer on your thank you page.   
  
  Second, visitors who land on your thank you page represent a targeted audience. They are interested in your topic, so if your thank you page offer deals with the same topic as your lead-capture page, these visitors are more likely to be interested.
  
  
•  What is a subscription confirmation page?
  
  Usually, autoresponder services require all your subscribers to be double opt-in.  This means that people requesting information from you by entering their names and e-mail addresses using your lead-capture page will receive a confirmation request e-mail message.  They have to open this message and click on a confirmation link. Only after they confirm their subscription this way, you can send them messages using an autoresponder.
  
  A subscription confirmation page works the same way as a thank you page, but is shown immediately after new subscribers click on the confirmation link.
  
  
  Different autoresponder services may use a bit different names for these two types of pages.  AWeber, for example, calls a subscrption confirmation page a "subscription success page."
  
  TrafficWave calls these two pages "subscription landing page" and "confirmation landing page" respectively.
  
  
  Using These Pages is Crucial to Your Success!   
  
  I cannot stress enough how effective this mode of advertising is.  This is the best advertising on autopilot with very high conversion rates.  I built a downline of over 250 people in Home-Income-Team using predominanly these pages.
  
  Here is how the whole process works.
  
  Step 1 -- promote your lead-capture page
  You advertise your lead-capture page, where you offer free information (plus possibly a free gift).  Safelists, traffic exchanges, opt-in lists, solo ads are all great to promote lead-capture pages.  People who are interested in the information and/or your gift enter their names and e-mail addresses.

  I created Page 1 myself using a template I received as a member of ProTrafficShop. Page 2 is based on a template provided by TrafficWave.   
  
  Step 2 -- redirect to a thank you page (subscription landing page)
  After people enter their information using my lead-capture pages, they are redirected to a thank you page.  Click on the following for an example of a thank you page:

  Click on my thank you page, scroll down and select 'no' and click on the button.  You will see that the page redirects to another offer page.  This way, people who don't like the first offer might buy the second.  You can get a number of different one-time offer type pages to use as a thank you page as a member of OTOGoldMine.
  
  
  Step 3 -- potential subscribers receive a confirmation e-mail
  People who entered their info using your lead-capture page will receive a confirmation e-mail message asking them to confirm their subscription by clicking on a confirmation link within the message.
  
  Step 4 -- redirect to a subscription confirmation page (confirmation landing page)
  Immediately after your subscribers click on a confirmation link, they are redirected to a subscription confirmation page.  This is another chance to show them your offer. Click on the following link for an example of my subscription confirmation page:

  As I already mentioned, this particular page is responsible for more than 200 sign-ups.
  
  When choosing an autoresponder service, look for one that offers customizable thank you pages and subscription confirmation pages.  This feature is very important. Don't forget to use it.  Don't forget to split-test your pages.  If you are not sure which pages to choose, I suggest trying the ones I use and testing them against some other pages of your choice. This way you will be constantly improving your conversion rates.  A very simple way of testing is to use a rotator.  For example, use the Home-Income-Team page and some other page.  Both pages will receive the same number of hits and after some time you will be able to check which page performs better.
